Working with community groups, schools and museums, the workshops included in this showreel enable participants to create their own films combining interactive technology with analogue film-making. The group use stop-motion animation and green screen techniques to visualise their stories using accessible technology that provides immediate results.
National Football Museum / Accrington Academy Personal Histories A collaboration between Soup Collective, The National Football Museum and school children at Accrington Academy to develop a stop motion animation workshop for use within the learning programme of the museum
Creative Partnerships St. Ambrose Barlow Badminton Academy, Visual Training Manual This school group were tasked to make a visual training manual using demonstrations and animtion. The result is captivating even to the non-enthusiast, and the film makers learnt a thing or two about their practice along the way.
Curriculum Plus / The Brick A Film I Wish I'd Seen When I Was Younger This community group began with writing about their experiences of homelessness, and drawing some of the places they have made home. Using an green screen set up on the floor, with camera overhead, the participants were able to walk around their drawn environments.
National Football Museum Personal Museums A residency and installation for the National Football Museum which involved 3D scanning and printing participants’ memorabilia, generating a film to tell its’ story, and projecting the resulting film onto the object in a miniature interactive cinema
Curriculum Plus Hidden Voices These looping images were a culmination of several weeks of workshops with homeless people in the Wigan area. They were presented as a month-long exhibition in a shop window in Wigan shopping centre
