KINECT SENSOR

As Performance device.

Initial Tests into the recording of both video and 3D data through a Kinect sensor as a tool for usage within a live performance. First tests revolved around the idea of 'recreating' aspects of the 2ZY narrative. Some initial tests have also been done to try out the use of the kinect within a choreographed performance. This will be developed within the second weeks of R&D, looking into among other aspects:

• Physical movements recorded in space and time. Exploring usage of chronophotography to leave traces, echoes of the performers moves.
• Physical movements triggering luminance. Using mapping to project onto the dancer, the body becomes an audio reactive canvas, luminance increases with the dancers movements.
