Cooling Down

Installation  |  Cooling Down  |  Manchester School of Architecture | AHRC

Cooling down began as a collaboration between Soup and the Manchester School of Architecture, developing as a community-focussed research project and resulting in a three screen immersive installation. The installation is characterised by its uniquely cinematic approach that recontextualises demolition outside its conventional tropes. It embraces a public perspective of the transformational moment of physical loss and the aftermath of deindustrialisation.

Produced by Soup and directed and shot by Michael England and Mark Thomas. Soundtrack by Graham Massey. Project led by Professor Richard Brook and Luca Csepely-Knorr.
